Proposal and Validation of a Feasibility Model for Information Mining Projects (S)

Information Mining projects are a special type of Software Engineering projects with the objective of extracting non-trivial knowledge from available data repositories. Information mining projects share similar problems with Software Engineering projects. Most of these problems should be handled at the initial activities of the project. But there is no model to analyze and evaluate the project feasibility which could be used to predict the main project risks. In this context, the objective of this paper is to propose and validate an ad-hoc model that can be used at the beginning of an Information Mining project in order to analyze its feasibility.
